Suede may begin writing new songs
Britpop veterans considering working on new material, says lead singer Brett Anderson

Suede may begin writing new material, singer Brett Anderson has revealed. Saying he regrets the band's last album, 2002's New Morning, Anderson assured fans nothing would be released "unless I was really, really excited about it".
It has been eight years since we heard a new song from Suede: they released the Attitude/Golden Gun single in October 2003, just before breaking up. But after acclaimed reunion concerts last summer, Suede are back and gigging. Besides appearances at this year's Coachella and SOS 4.8 festivals, the London band will perform their first three albums across three gigs at Brixton Academy in May. Following these dates, Anderson is considering new material.
"One thing I've really learned from re-forming the band is what I've regretted releasing," he told Xfm. "Maybe the last Suede album, the reaction to it. I kind of regret that. Nothing would see the light of day unless I was really, really excited about it. So there's a possibility we could do some writing together but no one ever knows about it."
Whether or not the band return to the studio, Suede will be back in season this summer with reissues of their five studio albums. It's "the definitive collection of pretty much everything we released in 14 years together and some stuff that we didn't", Anderson said, "flawed, strange and sometimes beautiful".
