Reminds me of when I was a painfully shy teenager and had a t shirt with the Philip larkin poem, #they fuck you up, your mum and dad#(etc) on it, and i used to sometimes get outraged reactions from people.. even tho i totally believed in the poem i was a little embarressed to wear it..

I always imagined them to be Doc Martens. I was obsessed with Doc Martens at the time though, so maybe I'm biased haha! All I wanted during my early teens was a pair of bloody Docs!, and my Dad wouldnt let me because he wanted me to look like a 'lady'..
