...and if you WERE to investigate My Fair Lady, start with the 1956 Broadway version; every other version is severely lacking in passion (and for the movie version, the woman they got to dub Audrey Hepburn's lines is HORRIBLE).

why did they dub her???....

Because apparently Auds couldn't hit the high notes...never mind that she cuold actually sing with passion (as evidenced by the parts in "Just You Wait" that she sings).

oh...

...the one good thing about the movie version is that it has the "best" version of On The Street Where You Live, imvho. The Broadway version has too much vibrato and the guy has one of those voices that makes you want to punch him, and the guy who sings on the London cast recording has the most ridiculously thin and unconvincing voice...
