Why is even a Prefab Sprout topic turning into something sexual?

If there is one band that's completely asexual to me than it is Prefab Sprout. When I hear Wendy, she's just an angel to me. Steve McQueen is a glorious album, but I prefer Andromeda Heights as a favourite album. It has just wonderful tunes. Listen to Anne Marie, you'll hear the sweetest things.

...but yeah, you make a fair point about the Sprout being asexual. One of the reasons why a lot of people hate them, I guess, but I love their detached elegance. I only wish Wendy sang MORE...I mean, her voice on Cars & Girls and When Love Breaks Down just MAKES those songs...

Trying to stay on topic, I would say Wendy Smith doesn't need to sing more. Just because she sings so sparsely, it got more mysterious and special. But yes, she makes those songs shining and bright, thought Paddy is a genius on his own. The songs you mention are stunning. Another highlight of Wendy's craft is the bridge in We let the stars go or Pearly gates on Protest songs, one of their most heartbreaking duets. It's of a breathtaking beauty.

Generally an underrated band.
