Half of all teenagers in England and Wales are being failed by secondary schools that focus on brighter children destined to go on to higher education, according to a damning new report from the thinktank Demos.
well, maybe there should be a split in schools... one for those who should pursue higher education and one for those who want just go out and work

good point sun... there is always pressure on puils 'bettering' themselves but maybe some just want to go out and have a job and live their life - or do we want a society where every single person is a doctor, or lawyer, or architect etc???... society is too weird these days, trying to force people to do things they don't want to do!!!!...

well, in spain there is the 'normal' way and the professional way where kids learn to be mechanics, electricians, plumbers and all that since they are 14
