Who was the first person to smoke?

Who was the guy who looked at tobacco plants and said, "Hey, I bet it'd be cool to dry these leaves, roll them up in paper, set fire to one end, put the other end in my mouth, and puff. It might make me cough at first, and it might taste disgusting, but if I keep going, it'll make me feel more relaxed"...?

I wonder the same about the person who first thought about pouring hot water over ground-up coffee beans.

When I was 11, I drank black coffee, even in the middle of hot summer days.

A year later I quit because it was sort of stupid. I think I was just trying to act like an adult.

I've never smoked; nicotine's almost as disgusting as coffee to me.

I can't drink unsweetened tea...I have to put honey in it.

But I usually only drink tea when I'm really sick.

But tea can't be black! Blackness only refers to coffee!

I don't know if that's you or just your Britishness, but WTF? Grumble.

Tea without milk isn't "black," it's transparent.

Brown ain't black, especially when it's light brown.
