Elastica is quite a good album. It has its moments. Of course it is nowhere compared to Suede and DMS, but it's good fun.

Better than Cast indeed.

I never much liked other Britpop bands like Supergrass or Ocean Colour Scene or The Bluetones or ... Just not very convincing.

Bands I still like are Strangelove, Geneva, JJ72, Mansun, Pulp amongst others.

I don't get the Cast hate. Yeah, they have the virtuosity of Eater and painfully sappy lyrics, but All Change is such a fun album! I actually think it's more consistant than Parklife or Definitely Maybe.

Elastica just rubs me the wrong way...there's no passion at all in it, just some noisy guitars and bored-sounding vocals.

But I don't care for Supergrass or Ocean Colour Scene either...the Bluetones are all right.

Pulp...the music's sort of cheesy and dull, but Jarvis' lyrics are amazing. One of the best lyricists pop music has produced, imo (better than Brett, even).

Blur's ok enough...but the first three (yes, three) Oasis albums are where it's at. Throw in The Masterplan and you have a streak to rival the first four Suede albums.
