dms - brixton academy 20-05-11

Post by sunshine »

and another one of those fantastic shows they are doing lately!!

They played: introducing the band, we are the pigs, heroine, the wild ones, daddy's speeding, the power, new generation, hollywood, 2 of us, black or blue, the asphalt world, still life
living dead (brett solo guitar), my dark star, stay together, flashboy, so young, metal mickey, animal nitrate.

what can I say??? tomorrow after the last gig, it will be hard to think no more shows 'home' for a while

photos later... videos on fcbk

Yep another great night. Loved the rocked up Still Life outro - beats pressing play on a tape player any day of the week. Was good to hear Stay Together too, with I think a bit more effort out in than the last time I heard it at the ICA.

Was really hoping they'd do Together as I've never heard them play it live - guess there's still a (very) slim chance they'll play it tonight.

Marky - hope you got there ok, I had trouble with the Victoria line grinding to a halt - ended up getting two buses from Green Park.. was 45 minutes late meeting my friend. Just caught the tail end of the Chapel Club set tonight.

Still unlike most people tonight is the big one for me. Coming Up is pretty much my favourite album ever. Have already got the T shirt on...

Gareth.

I got stuck because of the tube too... Ended up getting a bus to elephant and castle and wandered lost until i finally found a taxi. kept bumping into this guy who had same problem. haha! craziness. I told my friend Jon about this today and he thought the image of 'fey, worried suede fans' all stranded in pimlico together was hilarious. hehe..

Yeps, I'm off for some drinks then its back to Brixton. Have a good gig everyone! I'll be down the front somewhere. The shortarse girl with black bunches and fox tattoo. If you see me say hi :)

Just before I go, Vanessa has posted a DMS track by track guide at the other place:

And in an unrelated note, following last night's performance, Daddy's Speeding makes a lot more sense to me know - I always heard 'trapped in steel and saveloys'. Guess I should have read the lyric booklet...

What a fucking brilliant stunning unbelievable night that was. One for the legend.

The band did a top performance, unfolding the drama of DMS in full before our eyes.

Neil fucked up the bridge of Stay together, LOL.

I was one of those fucked and stuck in Pimlico too!!!! After all that fucking talk of strikes too lol!!!... Fucking LU!!!! :( Well waited about 40 mins for a bus with everyone else looking desperate (nearly gave up and walked back to Victoria for a taxi lol!!!!)... Hadn't a clue but at least the bus dropped us right at the BA doorstep - I didn't know it was gonna end there I just thought Brixton generally!!!... Arrived must have been around 8.30pm or something - in the middle of Chapel Club set... Don't think I was looking too fey in my black tee, jeans and converse though Urchin - no glitter or makeup at least lol!!!! :P I'm a butch boy lol!!! :P

Fantastic night - especially hearing Daddy's Speeding/Black Or Blue for the first time at a show - and I was in shock at Stay Together lol - all my dreams come true!!!!... And Brett actually looked like he was revelling in playing it!!!!.... Great performance, great audience...
