Completely off topic now, but I heard in the news today that people in Spain demonstrated in 28 cities, because the judge who's investigating the Franco regime crimes, has to resign.

It looks like Spain is struggling with his past. From a distance that seems quite odd, cause who can be against bringing the truth about awful crimes? Especially if they want to show themselves as a modern country with a left wing government.

Speaking about goverments, Belgium is governmentless again! Third time they resign in 3 year's time! Looks like we're having elections again! If not, we're gone split the country... I'm left wing myself, but possibly I will vote for the separatist party this time.

Europe is dissolving... Greece and Portugal almost broke... The Brits are right after all!

Because the 'honorary' president of the right wing party was a minister during Franco's time... and it is in their blood...
all the left wing parties want it, but the right wing ones obviously object... the people taking Garzón to court are the reminiscent of the fascist young parties of their time

Socialism has never worked but I agree it's a nice ideal...!!! :D Sadly although the tories and 'New' Labour have fucked up many things in recent years it isn't a patch on the old labour party of the past... rubbish piling up in the streets, endless strikes, 3 day working weeks, extreme poverty...

agreed when u consider the riots, sleaze, greed and waste of the 80's to the present day it's hardly been wonderful either!!!

Unfortuantely none of the 3 parties have anything to offer imo - Labour are tired, Liberals sound too good to be true (under scrutiny Clegg won't say clearly how it will all be funded) and the tories - well cameron has this nice view of less government waste and a bigger society based on responsibilty - a nice ideal but absolutely no way of saying what policies can be puit into place to make this work - either people will take responsibilty for their own actions or not - if not there will be new laws to make people do things correctly - but Cameron says it is not about creating new laws - so there is no sense in that...

I don't actually believe any (to a degree perhaps the liberals) have our best interests at heart... I deplore A LOT about the current Labour government but I certainly wouldn't vote for the tories - nothing belivable in anything they say and have they really changed??? I think they have changed a bit but enough?? - and is it only because of vote chasing??!!!

The scary thought is that whoever is in charge after the election (Cameron, Clegg or Brown) I think i'll have my head in my hands!!!! All three of them have the potential to become one of the worst british prime ministers on record!!!

Maybe i'm wrong - time will tell - but whoever gets in they have a major fuck-up to deal with and it looks like things will get worse before they get better!!! - how cheerful!!!

This country always needs a good recession or war though to bring some reality back to people!!!! It always seems to me people get far to greedy and selfish when this country is at it's most prosperous - and the stats have always said it doesn't make us happy!!! The british have always been at their best when we are in adversity and crisis...!! When we are all in a struggle people tend to be more generous and thoughtful and helpful...

ok - talking shit now (only had 3 hours sleep yesterday!) so i'm gonna shut up...! :D

This was meant to be about Jools and suddenly it's become all political!!! no left or right anymore anyway over here - tories are less right, labour less left... they are the same - current labour has only really been another version of the tories...

I'd just told them I'm not allowed to vote anyway

or are you?

It reminds me of when I was a student. We always had these Mormonists from the US coming round to our house trying to evangelize us and I just told them I'm not interested and that I am Roman Catholic etc. and as in the US catholics are said to be very faithful and stuff they didn't try any longer and left me alone for the rest of my time there.
