I would never play the race card; I view political correctness much as the Manics do.
I might not have as keen a grasp on it as you do, but I like to think that I "get" irony slightly more than most of my compatriots.

As far as I'm concerned, there are three good American bands (Sleater-Kinney, CCR, the Velvet Underground when John Cale was still in the band), and only one of them is truly great.
Grohl's ok as a drummer, I guess...

Well, yeah, hangover dreams are notorious for conjuring up frightening images along the lines of "Fuck, I hope I never actually do that!" It's a good thing the Manics would never go further than imagining making something so daft as "Paradise City."
