k, imagine me and people having dinner, and out of the blue this guy goes (at me): "Do you have speed boats where you live?"

True story.

I don't voluntarily hang out with people like that. A teacher said that to me back in middle school.

I'm a Suede fan because...well, we've been through this before, haven't we?

Car wash *unt's post reminded me of another quote:

"Do they have prostitutes in Taiwan?"

This isn't a weird thing, but it's embarrassing. I was maybe ten years old, a real bookworm, and my mom went to visit some of her friends, taking me along. So I was left alone in a room with this really old woman (one of the friend's mothers, I guess), and she lit up when she saw me reading a book.

"Oooh, can you read?" she asked. Remember, I'm ten. "Read some of that! Show me that you can read!"

And so I stumbled along for a page before becoming so demoralized that I closed the book and said, "I'm tired now" and left the room.

Another grievance I have against old people, I suppose.

I actually smiled and said yes...a 'yes' you say quietly while rolling your eyes in your mind.
Lucky him, I love his silly unsuccessful card tricks, otherwise I'd slap him lol.

This is a place where people say weird things, period.
This thread in particular has crossed every limit. I'm speechless.

I don't pride myself on much, but I admire my ability to say "yes" in a sarcastic way that's obviously sarcastic but also so winningly innocent that the person doesn't care that I've just insulted them.

That might not be as relevant as perhaps it should be, but it came to mind.

"is wardrobe COMPULSORY"...brilliant! If I could get that as a bumper sticker, I would find excuses to drive around aimlessly just to maximize the number of people who saw it.
