So is Dylan's "She Belongs To Me" a Christmas song?
"For Halloween get her a trumpet, and for Christmas, buy her a drum."
I guess my point is that most "Christmas songs" are solely about the holiday and the pomp associated with it; "Fairytale Of New York" actually goes beyond mere sentimentality and empty imagery to talk about something meaningful and real that can be listened to at any time of the year, with or without snow on the ground and garlands around every lamppost in sight.
"And don't use words like bollocks when most americans don't even understand what that means lol "
Haha, I'm actually writing a term paper about the Sex Pistols for one of my classes, and I'm debating whether to include the "bollocks" controversy in the whole shebang!
I use terms like "stop talking out of your arse" and "oh shite" and no one around me knows what I'm on about...methinks I need to listen to a wee bit less British music.
