Re: the producer
Absolutely revealing and fascinating. The intro of The Wild Ones was recorded in the street! The mix of New Generation went horribly wrong. Coming Up was originally recorded to a back-drop of conga's that eventually were removed. And so on. Indispensable reading.
Re: the producer
yeah. so much revealed!
Re: the producer
I have to admit for me, i'm not too keen on the re-mastering of the Suede songs on the best of - for some reason it sounds worse than before with many songs way too bass heavy and the sound levels are all over the place... Maybe it's just me but it definitely sounds worse on my hi fi than the original versions - the delicacy has gone!!!!
Re: the producer
well, i suppose that a producer will know better how to do those things than a musician in the same way they will know better how to sing and play instruments!
Re: the producer
But Chris Potter who remastered the Suede best of IS a producer and I really don't like it lol!!!! I know a lot of people were not massive fans of Mr Buller's production but i'd rather have it untouched after listening to the new versions... Or maybe it's just my hi fi lol!!! But the originals definitely sound much better, I dunno why....
Re: the producer
that's been a debate at the other place
